  2. Can different brands of firefighting foam be mixed?
All Denko aqueous film forming foams are compatible with 3M’s Light Water (AFFF) as well as many other namebrand foams including Angus, Ansul, National and Chemguard. As a firefighting foam distributor for nearly 30 years Denko has never received a complaint of an adverse reaction when their product is mixed with other AFFFs. Additionally, Denko Class A and B Hi-X foams have no adverse affect on the performance of the mixed product if mixed with Class A foams. Note that mixing Denko Hi-X foam with another Class A foam will eliminate the class “B” rating you can expect with the Denko product.

  3. Will Total Fire Groups revolutionary and exclusive ventilating hood design meet the requirements of the 2006 edition of NFPA 1971?
YES! Hoods are required to cover the top of the head where the helmet is positioned. However, Total Fire Group’s vented hood design is still permitted because the areas requiring thermal protective performance include the sides and neck only.

  4. Why don’t Morning Pride helmets have a glossy finish?
The shells of the Ben 2 Plus, Lite Force Plus, Proximity Plus and Heavy Duty Technical Rescue/USAR are all made from a special formula FYR-Glass composite material. This super tough shell material has been proven for years in field use to resist cracking, chipping and peeling (even on helmet ridges) better than conventional fiberglass composites, painting or coating methods, even Kevlar reinforced shells.

  5. What is BPR?
The newest requirements in protective clothing are for systems that provide protection against bloodborne pathogens (like the HIV and Hepatitis B virus). The OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard seem to require just such protection for firefighters and EMS workers (and the new NFPA clothing editions make the same requirements). Morning Pride is pleased to be the first firm to offer a full line of interface capable and certified bloodborne pathogen resistant firefighting clothing. Morning Pride is also the first firm to offer interface capable and certified EMS systems. Morning Pride "BPR" products interface with all Servus, Ranger, and Warrington boots to provide full body protection (including interface areas).
